Product Description
In mixing if you find umbers too “smoky or atmospheric”, you will find this to be very crisp and rich. We have seen it used to create viscous, tarry looking surfaces as well as very lustrous, sleek rich browns like fine mink fur.
As we refined the Williamsburg Artist Oil Colors palette, Dutch Brown (Transparent) was originally planned for retirement. Yet its distinctive character, artistic versatility, and contribution to the Williamsburg color story made it worth preserving as a Williamsburg Signature Color. While Signature Colors may not appear in every store, these colors will remain available in our standard 37ml tube size through select online partners and retailers.
